I have sold condoms to Madonna, slapped Truman Capote and tripped over Barbra Streisand twice, which is what life was like for me in New York. I moved there in 1978 after having spent three years working as a professional actor singer dancer who was tired of living a gypsy life. I was gay and didn't want to spend my life playing straight roles and pretending to be something I wasn't which is what my agents had planned for me. I wanted to plant my feet in one place and find a new way to work in the industry I loved which landed me in the middle of the entertainment capital of New York. It was a non stop life that took me everywhere to everything. Going to the Grammy's the Tony's, the MTV Awards being a judge for the EMMY's having a home in the Hamptons, rubbing shoulders with celebrities and politicians for a living. Which, for a kid from Oregon was a rollercoaster ride down the yellow brick road. So here's a sample of my resume.
Robert W Cabell spent over three decades working in the New York entertainment industry with giants like Time Warner, HBO, Spelling International, Columbia Pictures, and the NY Post. His debut novel "The Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde" received unanimous rave reviews from coast to coast and was optioned for films and annimation. In 2012 he premiered "All The Mermaids In The Sea"by two spin-off novels "The Mermaid Adventures of Princess Miranda" and "Adara Princess Of The Sea - Killer Lamprey From The Trash Triangle", and his newest creation "Joe Time Trucker and The Fate of the Annunaki" was published in fall of 2023. He has authored books on humor such as "Jayms Blonde Blond Jokes and Blonde Bon Mots" as well as his Trilogy of plays on Sarah Bernhardt Oscar Wilde. In addition books and plays his musicals "Z-The Musical of Zorro, "Two Hearts Over Easy," "Pretty Faces - The Large & Lovely Musical," and "12 Days Of Christmas - A Musical Celebration," have been produced in the USA and Europe. All of this in addition to his prodigious career as a videographer, editor and Documentary Filmmaker.
I, Sarah The Divine - is a combination of Part One - The Divine Rising Star - as act one and Part Three - The Divine Golden Years as act two. Both plays have been trimmed to keep the running time appropriate but the combination creates and unforgettable tour de force production.
